Manchester City’s three-man forward shortlist revealed ahead of summer window

Manchester City have already begun making plans for the summer transfer window.

Manchester City did not have the most active January transfer window.

The Sky Blues have not signed any players at the time of writing, with Joao Cancelo’s shock exit to Bayern Munich on loan with a €70m option the only noteworthy bit of business coming out of the Etihad.

However, whilst City fans may have wanted more from their club during such a close title race, City are already making plans to improve their squad next summer.

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester City are interested in a move for James Maddison this summer, while Premier League rivals have enquired about the availability of the Leicester playmaker this month.

It is added that whilst City want another forward, there is only a small pool of players who fit the bill.

With 14 goal contributions in Serie A this season, AC Milan’s Rafael Leao is being closely monitored. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the Georgian winger at Napoli, also has suitors across Europe.

Should Manchester City indeed sign a winger this summer, it is expected that Phil Foden could be moved into a more central role behind Erling Haaland, which was his natural position until he became a regular at senior level for City.
