Liverpool want striker praised by Kylian Mbappe

Liverpool look to be in the market for a new centre-forward this summer.

With Roberto Firmino leaving Liverpool this summer, many people likely expected Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo to fill the void at the heart of Liverpool’s attack.

Nunez is a natural centre-forward – though he has played out wide a lot this season – whilst Gakpo is growing into his role as a striker under Jurgen Klopp.

Now though, according to Goal, Liverpool are quite keen on a young striker in the Premier League.

The player in question is Evan Ferguson, who has eight goals and four assists across 23 outings for Brighton’s senior side this season.

The 18-year-old has also previously earned the praise of PSG and France star, Kylian Mbappe.

Speaking before a recent meeting between France and the Republic of Ireland, Mbappe said.

“But we hope tomorrow that it is not good for him, we want to win and we want to do a good job. But he is a good player.”

No potential transfer fee is mentioned but Brighton are unlikely to let Ferguson go cheap.
