Liverpool keen on shock move for Premier League defender

Liverpool are looking to strengthen their backline this summer.

The player being looked at by the Reds is Fulham right-back, Kenny Tete.

According to a report from Daily Mail, the defender will be available for a fee of around £10.5m and the Reds are hoping to snap him up.

The Fulham defender has entered the final 12 months of his contract and he is yet to sign a renewal. As a result, the Londoners will be under pressure to cash in on him as they will not want to lose him on a free transfer next year.

Tete joined Fulham from Ligue 1 side Lyon in September of 2020 for €3.5m.

He has since featured 80 times for the Cottagers, scoring three and assisting eight in various competitions.

2022/23, meanwhile, saw him score one and assist one in five Premier League outings, which is a solid return for a full-back.

The move, though, would likely see Joe Gomez’s game time limited even further, as he filled in at right-back on several occasions last campaign.
