Chelsea & Manchester United enter late race for World Cup star

Chelsea and Manchester United could be set to add more players to their squads before the 11 pm deadline.

According to Spanish outlet El Chiringuito TV, Chelsea have entered the race and are pushing for Sofyan Amrabat (no not the former Watford player) but have competition from Manchester United for the Morocco international.

Both Manchester United and Chelsea need fresh legs in the middle of the park this month.

The Red Devils lost Christian Eriksen to injury until around April, meaning they now have just three senior central midfielders on their books ahead of a hectic schedule that sees them playing a game very three days.

As for Chelsea, central midfield has been a problem area all camping and they have just sold Jorginho to Arsenal.

Manchester United are also linked with Marcel Sabitzer, whilst Chelsea are working on a record transfer for Benfica’s Enzo Fernandez.

However, Amrabat, who had an excellent World Cup with Morocco, could be an alternative for both clubs.

FC Barcelona are also said to be interested in the Fiorentina star, so it should be an interesting final few hours of deadline day.
