Chelsea dealt major blow in Joao Felix pursuit

A Joao Felix future update has been provided over the weekend.

Felix made his debut for Chelsea back in January in a 2-1 loss to Fulham.

The forward had a bright start to the game and looked a shrewd signing by the Blues.

However, Felix was shown a straight red card after 58 minutes of the match and missed Chelsea’s proceeding three Premier League matches.

He then returned to action vs West Ham and scored the Blues’ only goal of the game.

After his three outings for Chelsea to date, there is already talk of a permanent deal.

However, it looks as though Chelsea have some hefty competition from current La Liga leaders, FC Barcelona.

Barcelona tried to sign Felix in 2020 but failed due to financial issues. Now, the Spanish giants are desperate to link Felix with the likes of Pedri and Gavi.

It is believed Chelsea will try and sign Felix on a permanent deal during the summer transfer window, but it won’t be an easy task convincing Atletico Madrid to part ways with Felix on the cheap.
