Arsenal set to lose out on striker target

One of Arsenal’s transfer targets is heading elsewhere this summer.

According to Dutch outfit Telegraaf, Bayern Munich are very close to completing the signing of Juventus striker and Arsenal target Dusan Vlahovic.

Bayern Munich have been looking for a replacement for Robert Lewandowski since he left last summer, and have reportedly found their ideal candidate in the Serbian forward.

This is a blow for Arsenal, as they need some fresh legs up front heading into the 2023/24 season, in which they have Champions League football for the first time in years.

Gabriel Jesus netted 11 goals last season, with Eddie Nketiah bagging just nine. Such low tallies are simply not good enough if Arsenal wish to compete at the highest level in four competitions.

But whilst Arsenal are expected to miss out on Vlahovic, who they originally tried to sign before his move to Juventus, there are still a number of other options they can explore.

Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa has been linked with an Emirates switch of late, as has Elye Wahi of Montpellier.
