Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta ‘obsessed’ with €60m Premier League star

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has told the Gunners’ hierarchy that he wants one Premier League player ‘at all costs’ this summer.

Spanish outlet Nacional are claiming that one of Arsenal and Arteta’s ‘obsessions’ is to sign Brighton and Ecuador midfielder, Moises Caicedo, adding that Arteta wants to ‘have the Ecuadorian international at his command at all costs’.

A deal for Caicedo would apparently ‘not cost less than 60 million euros’, which seems pretty low given previous reports.

Arsenal’s interest in Caicedo first came about back in January and Mikel Arteta and co. were very keen to get a deal done.

The north Londoners reportedly saw bids of £60m, £70m and £80m turned down during the winter window.

Caicedo has continued on with the Seagulls and remained a key figure as they push for their first-ever European finish.

He also signed a new contract with Brighton earlier this year, which is likely to give them even more bargaining power this summer. As a result, Arsenal will likely need to rely on the player to help push through a transfer in 2023.
