Liverpool enter race for €20m forward with 24 goal contributions

Liverpool are eyeing fresh legs up top ahead of the summer.

Liverpool are interested in signing the Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze.

According to a report from Defensa Central, Liverpool will face competition from Premier League clubs Arsenal, West Ham Everton and Aston Villa for the Nigerian.

The winger has a contract with Villarreal until the summer of 2024 and he will have just one year left on his contract at the end of the season. As a result, he could be available for a reasonable price during the summer transfer window.

No transfer fee is mentioned in the report, but Chukwueze is valued at just €20m by transfermarket.com, likely due to his current contract situation.

The 23-year-old joined Villareal’s academy in 2017 and has gone on to make 198 appearances for the Spanish outfit’s senior side.

He has played 41 games this season, scoring 13 and assisting 11 so far.

Chukwueze fits the profile of the type of winger Liverpool normally target and as he is natural to the right-flank, Liverpool will finally have cover and potentially a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.
