France star Hugo Lloris has, late on Saturday, etched his name firmly into the history books of his country.
Les Bleus, of course, are set to return to action in short order.
After watching all of Croatia, Argentina and Morocco book their respective places in the World Cup semi-finals, Didier Deschamps’ men will set about doing likewise, in a crunch quarter-final showdown with England.
Ahead of the action getting underway in Al Khor, as is customary, the two nations’ starting line-ups were made official an hour prior to kick-off.
Deschamps, for his part, opted for as close to a full-strength XI as he could manage, featuring the talents of the likes of Raphael Varane, Kylian Mbappe and the aforementioned Hugo Lloris.

And, in the process, France’s boss set his captain and star shot-stopper en route to history.
The benchmark had previously been held by ex-defender and national icon Lilian Thuram.
