Liverpool & Chelsea eye January switch for Championship star

The player in question is a well known midfielder with Premier League experience.

With N’Golo Kante and Jorginho out of contract at the end of the season, and Liverpool struggling so far in the Premier League, especially in midfied, it’s not at all a surprise to hear both clubs are looking for reinforcements in this position as we approach the January transfer window.

And the player they could be targeting this winter is Sheffield United and Norway star, Sander Berge.

According to Jeunes Footeux, Chelsea and Liverpool could make a move for Berge in the January transfer window, with Sheffield United looking to receive around €20m for the midfielder.

The report claims that Berge is looking to leave Sheffield United in the near future, with the Premier League undoubtedly an attractive destination for the Norwegian.

Berge was previously linked with Liverpool before his move to Sheffield United after impressing against the Reds in the Champions League with Belgian outfit, Genk.

Berge has since gone on to feature 79 times for the Blades, scoring 11 and assisting nine in the process.

And with Jude Bellingham likely too expensive or may set for a summer move elsewhere, Berge could be a cheap option to help plug some of the defensive gaps in a Liverpool midfield that is not what it once was.
