Spain and Barcelona star Pedri has, on Saturday, provided an insight into his hopes for the upcoming World Cup.
Midfield sensation Pedri, as expected, was afforded a spot in Luis Enrique’s final 26-man squad set to make the journey to Qatar later this month.
The 19-year-old is joined in La Roja’s ranks by a host of Barcelona teammates, with all of Eric Garcia, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, Gavi, Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati in line to take their place at international football’s biggest competition, too.
Spain, as a collective, are currently viewed as 4th favourites to go all the way in the Middle East, sitting behind the trio of Brazil, Argentina, and France.
And, in the case of the efforts of Enrique’s men coming up short, Pedri is hopeful that one of these three nations will indeed etch their names indellibly into football’s history books.
Speaking to Spanish outlet Marca this weekend, Barcelona’s gifted starlet was drawn on his hopes and dreams heading into the World Cup.
‘Hopefully we win it, but if Spain doesn’t, let [Messi] win it with Argentina,’ the midfielder remarked.
