Son Heung-min equals Premier League record held by Spurs teammate Harry Kane

Tottenham Hotspur attacker Heung-min Son has etched his name into the history books of the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Son, along with the rest of Spurs' squad, were of course back in action a short time ago.

On the back of a costly five points dropped across the club's last two outings, Antonio Conte's troops welcomed Leicester City to north London, eyeing a return to winning ways.

And, when all was said and done, this is precisely what the Lilywhites managed, aided in no small part by the aforementioned Son.

A wonderful individual display saw the South Korean lay on Harry Kane's opener, before turning goalscorer to the tune of a brace, en route to an eventual 3-1 triumph.

And, as alluded to above, in the process, Son secured for himself a piece of English football history.

As per statisticians Opta, the 29-year-old has now scored ten goals with his left foot across the 2021/22 Premier League campaign to date. This makes Son just the 2nd right-footed player, after none other than teammate Harry Kane, to reach double figures with his weaker foot in a single PL season:

Gunners leapfrogged

Turning attentions back towards the English top-flight table, Tottenham's latest victory on Sunday has of course proven an absolutely vital one when it comes to the race for Champions League football.

The Lilywhites have now leapfrogged north London rivals Arsenal back into 4th in the table, ahead of Mikel Arteta's troops facing off with West Ham United at the London Stadium later this evening.
