Sheffield United vs Arsenal prediction: Sheffield United 0-1 Arsenal

Arsenal are unbeaten in eight matches in all competitions and have lost just one of their last 10 in the Premier League.

Despite their decent run of form, Unai Emery’s side have only won one of their four Premier League away matches this season, scoring just five goals in that time.

Sheffield United’s home record is similarly poor, with one win in four. The Blades are seeking to avoid a fourth consecutive Premier League defeat in front of their own fans.

Sheffield United vs Arsenal: Who will win?

Arsenal are 10/11 favourites to win the match while Sheffield United are priced at 29/10 while the draw can be backed at 11/4.

Arsenal have kept three clean sheets in their last four matches in all competitions. The Gunners could also be boosted by the return of defensive trio Hector Bellerin, Kieran Tierney and Rob Holding. Back Arsenal to keep a clean sheet at 2/1.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has four goals in his last three away matches in all competitions. Aubameyang is 11/4 to open the scoring and 8/11 to score anytime.

Sheffield United vs Arsenal Premier League match preview

The final game of matchweek 9 sees Arsenal travel to Bramall Lane for their clash against Sheffield United.

Sheffield United head into Monday’s game on nine points, just one point above the relegation zone.

Chris Wilder’s side held Watford to a 0-0 draw at Vicarage Road prior to the international break. Sheffield United have failed to score a single goal in four of their last five matches.

Arsenal could reclaim third spot with a win. Without playing brilliantly, the Gunners hung on to a 1-0 win over Bournemouth at the Emirates in their last match. David Luiz scored his first goal for the club.

Arsenal could go six points above North London rivals Tottenham following their 1-1 home draw with Watford on Saturday.

Monday’s game will be the seventh Premier League meeting between the two sides. Arsenal have won two and drawn three of their six matches against the Blades.

Arsenal won 6-0 the last time they faced Sheffield in a League Cup match at the Emirates in 2008. Carlos Vela scored a hat-trick that night while Nicklas Bendtner bagged a brace.

Their last Premier League meeting was almost 13 years ago. Neil Warnock’s Sheffield side were 1-0 winners in a bizarre game that saw Phil Jagielka keep goal for the final 30 minutes.

Sheffield United team news vs Arsenal

Forward Callum Robinson is a minor doubt following his return from international duty.

David McGoldrick has returned to training but is likely to miss out with a groin problem. Oliver McBurnie is set to deputise for McGoldrick. McBurnie is expected to be fine despite picking up a knee injury in the draw at Watford.

With striking options at a minimum, Billy Sharp could get a run out.

John Fleck has a knock and requires a late fitness test.

Arsenal team news vs Sheffield United

Alexandre Lacazette used the international break to regain fitness following an ankle injury. Still, Monday’s match is set to come too soon for the Frenchman, which means that one of Bukayo Saka or Gabriel Martinelli should be handed a start.

Reiss Nelson has picked up a knee injury and is aiming to return to full training in November.

Mesut Ozil comes back into contention but appears to be far down the pecking order. Ozil has barely featured at all for the Gunners this season and faces competition from Dani Ceballos in the number 10 position. It’s worth noting that Ceballos played out wide for Spain in the international break.

Much to Arsenal fans’ frustration, Lucas Torreira does not appear to have the full backing of Unai Emery and the Uruguayan may have to settle for a place on the bench.

Left-back Kieran Tierney is ready to play and should start in place of Sead Kolasinac.

Hector Bellerin and Rob Holding could also start following their longstanding injuries. Unai Emery has a number of defensive options available to him, including Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Calum Chambers, if Holding or Bellerin aren’t ready.

Emile Smith Rowe has fully recovered from a concussion.
