Jose Mourinho sacked by Manchester United!
Liverpool’s 3-1 hammering of Manchester United on Sunday was the final straw for the Red Devils.
Many expected Jose Mourinho to be sacked when Manchester United’s Champions League campaign was over.
Instead, the Manchester United board have refused to wait until PSG run riot against the Red Devils and announced the news on Tuesday morning.
Manchester United announced:
“Jose Mourinho has left the club with immediate effect. The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future. A new caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the current season.”
Who will manage Manchester United this season?
In the initial aftermath of the Jose Mourinho sacking news, speculation has been rife about who will manage Manchester United both this season and in the long term.
As it stands, Michael Carrick will be the temporary manager of Manchester United until Saturday’s Premier League game with Cardiff.
Whether Carrick takes over until the end of the season is unclear though.
The best source on who will manage Manchester United until the end of 2018/2019 is Simon Stone of the BBC:
.@ManUtd caretaker WONT be Butt, Carrick or Wenger. Will be external. Carrick and McKenna to take training. Decision had to be taken in best interests of club it was felt.

Should Spurs fans be worried about losing Mauricio Pochettino?!
The short term nature of Manchester United’s plan means that Mauricio Pochettino is now in the view finder of both Real Madrid and the Red Devils come next summer.
There is little doubt that Spurs fans will be worrying today about the future of their current manager but he is contracted to the club until 2023.
So at least Daniel Levy is in a strong bargaining position.
It should also be noted that there are some top class managers currently out of work, including Zinedine Zidane and Antonio Conte.
Speculation will be rife in the coming months…
