An update on the future of Argentine icon Lionel Messi has been forthcoming late on Sunday evening.
The future of veteran attacker Messi, of course, was cast back into the spotlight in a major way earlier this afternoon.
This came amid claims across the English media that the 35-year-old is preparing for a new adventure in the United States in 2023.
As per The Times, MLS outfit Inter Miami – part-owned by ex-England international David Beckham – are ‘close’ to agreeing terms to take Messi to Florida upon the conclusion of the campaign.
This comes amid the suggestion that the former Barcelona man is keen to depart France and Paris Saint-Germain when his contract comes to an end next summer.

As alluded to above, though, in the hours since, a further update has come to the fore, on this occasion courtesy of transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
This comes as Inter Miami and PSG prepare to vie it out for his signature beyond next summer.
As things stand, the focus of the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner is firmly directed towards Argentina’s endeavours at the World Cup, with Messi’s final call on his future not expected to arrive until some point in the new year.
