The player in question is Declan Rice, who has been linked with a move to north London for some time.
And as we edge closer to the transfer window, Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on Arsenal’s pursuit of Rice:
“For Declan Rice, Arsenal are very confident. Arsenal will return with an important proposal, they are already discussing internally about the terms of this opening bid, to be made in June. Arsenal will really push on this one,” Romano said.
Before Rice decides where he will be plying his trade next season, though, the midfielder has a Europa Conference League final to take part in.
West Ham faced off with AZ Alkmaar in the second of two semi-final legs on Thursday. The Hammers won the previous fixture 2-1 and booked their spot in the final with a 1-0 away win on May 18 thanks to a strike from Pablo Fornals.
After that match, Declan Rice took to Instagram to celebrate and was praised in the comments section of a photo by Arsenal legend Ian Wright, Jamie Carragher, Yannick Bolasie and his teammate, Angelo Ogbonna.
