Arsenal to sign two Bundesliga defenders

Arsenal will look to the Bundesliga to improve their backline this summer.

Arsenal had a superb 2022/23 campaign that has secured them Champions League football for the first time in years.

However, the campaign will still be looked back upon with some disappointment as the Gunners spent much of the season top of the league only to fall away in April with three draws in a row followed by a loss to Manchester City.

One of Arsenal’s main problems in 2022/23 was their backline. They conceded 45 goals in 36 games, which is the highest of the top four, and the same as Liverpool.

They were particularly poor at home, conceding 25 in 18 ties at the Emirates. For context, that is the highest total of the top 10 clubs at home.

Now, to fix their defensive woes ahead of next season, Fabrizio Romano has reported that Arsenal are eyeing two Bundesliga-based defenders ahead of what is expected to be a busy summer transfer window at the Emirates.

Said players are Edmond Tapsoba of Bayer Leverkusen and Mohamed Simakan of RB Leipzig.
