Graham Potter sends message to Chelsea fans after latest loss

Chelsea are in horrendous form at the moment and Graham Potter is under pressure.

Graham Potter was appointed as Chelsea boss in September, replacing Thomas Tuchel who won the Champions League in 2021. The Blues had a mixed first half of the campaign under Potter but their form in 2023 has been awful.

They began the year with a 1-1 draw vs Nottingham Forest. This was followed by back-to-back defeats vs Manchester City.

The west Londoners then lost to Fulham before picking up their only win of the year vs Crystal Palace.

Since that win, Chelsea have drawn with Liverpool, Fulham and West Ham and lost to Borussia Dortmund, Southampton and Tottenham, all whilst failing to score a single goal.

Now, after their 2-0 defeat to London rivals Spurs, Graham Potter has sent a message to the Chelsea faithful:

“Our supporters have been very fair,” said Potter. “They have supported the team. I have no complaints with the supporters. They are entitled to be frustrated, upset, and angry with the results we have got and that is my responsibility. I have absolutely no complaints with the supporters.”

Potter added: “I can feel that they [the players] want the results to change around — they do. It’s not from a lack of effort or desire to do it. We are in a tough situation and moment.

“The results haven’t been kind to us. I think our performances have been better than our results, but while you are in this bit it feels whatever you do, you end up on the receiving end. It’s tough for them, us and the supporters — who I thought were fantastic with us again today. We have to keep going, keep working and believe in [the idea] that things can change around.”
