Manchester United want £35m defender with 12 goal contributions

Manchester United are looking to improve their backline.

Manchester United are interested in signing the Bayer Leverkusen defender, Jeremie Frimpong.

According to a report from Football Insider, the Red Devils are eyeing up a move for the 22-year-old right back.

Manchester United have reportedly scouted the player extensively this season and his performances have earned rave reviews from the Old Trafford scouts.

Links first emerged last summer but no move came to pass but is seems United could be back in for Frimpong in a few months.

The report claims that Manchester United might be able to sign him for a fee of around £30-35m, which in todays market seems like a fairly reasonable fee for a full-back.

The Manchester City academy graduate joined Leverkusen in 2021 from Celtic.

He has since made 76 appearances for the German outfit and is currently in the midst of an excellent campaign.

Frimpong has scored five goals and assisted seven in 29 ties across all competitions so far this term, all whilst operating as a right-back/right-wing-back.
