The latest bet365 Fan Nation Survey results are in, and it is the Battle of the Goats this time around!
Pre-tournament bet365 asked football fans whom they would prefer to win the World Cup between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The exact question asked was: ‘Who, if anyone, would you prefer to see win the World Cup out of Messi and Ronaldo?’

As the results show, fans from around the world would rather see Lionel Messi lift the World Cup Trophy than his long-time rival, Cristiano Ronaldo to a ratio of 4:3.
Looking at the breakdown of the votes, unsurprisingly, Argentinian fans overwhelmingly got behind their man Messi, with a whopping 95.86% of them backing him. Just 1.78% chose Ronaldo instead, though the percentage being this high from Argentina may surprise people anyway.
Brazil went for Ronaldo, with 42.64% choosing the Manchester United forward, while 20.93% preferred the idea of Messi lifting the Jules Rimet trophy in Qatar.
