Fans of the England Women’s national team have taken to social media in numbers on Thursday, to unveil a collective viewpoint surrounding the summer’s upcoming World Cup.
This, of course, comes fresh off the Lionesses’ latest impressive triumph.
For those not aware, Sarina Wiegman’s troops were back in action a short time ago.
In the first-ever edition of the Women’s Finalissima - a showcase between the reigning champions of Europe and South America - England welcomed Brazil to Wembley, for a highly-anticipated clash.
And, when all was said and done, it was the former who emerged triumphant.
After Ella Toone’s opener was cancelled out by Andressa Alves deep into injury-time, proceedings in London were sent to an ensuing penalty shootout.
From here, in turn, it was the Lionesses who held their nerve, en route to a 4-2 spot-kick triumph.
And the nation’s Finalissima victory has since given rise to quite the social media outpouring amongst those of an England persuasion.
