Aston Villa Team News
- Out: Leon Bailey, Boubacar Kamara, Philippe Coutinho, Matty Cash, Jed Steer
- Doubt: N/A
Unai Emery’s reputation in the Premier League has been well and truly restored this season since his arrival at Villa Park after the club parted ways with Steven Gerrard, with the veteran Spanish manager and Europa League expert setting the club on a run that could - almost comically - end in their qualification to the very competition that Emery has had so much success with.
What the former Arsenal man has done in Birmingham has been nothing short of fantastic, and the progression of Ollie Watkins under his command will no doubt have the English striker fielding interest in the summer. But first, a trip to Wolves this weekend and the chance to leapfrog Tottenham into the top six as they come into proceedings level on points with Ryan Mason’s Spurs.
A number of selection headaches present themselves, however, with Leon Bailey, Boubacar Kamara, Philippe Coutinho, Matty Cash, and Jed Steer all unavailable for action. The absences of Cash and Bailey are perhaps the most notable, along with Kamara, with Coutinho and Steer likely to not receive many - if any - minutes. As such, Emery is very much expected to name the same XI that featured in the narrow loss to Manchester United.
