Arsenal are considering the appointment of Tottenham Hotspur’s former Head of Recruitment Paul Mitchell, according to the Times.
The Gunners looked set to land Monchi following his departure from AS Roma, however, he instead returned to Sevilla.
The north London club have now turned their attention elsewhere in their search for a new technical director.

Paul Mitchell proved to be a resounding failure at Spurs bringing in the likes of Clinton N’Jie, Georges-Kevin N’Koudou and Vincent Janssen.
Having formerly worked with Mauricio Pochettino at Southampton, his second stint under the Argentine proved very unsuccessful.
However, the Gunners could give Mitchell another chance in English football by bringing him to the Emirates.
He is currently working in Germany with RB Leipzig and has also been linked with Manchester United.
Arsenal face a race against time to appoint a new technical director with the summer transfer window fast approaching.
They have already missed out on Monchi and Marc Overmars, who signed a new contract with AFC Ajax.
Monchi’s explains why he rejeceted Arsenal
“I thank Arsenal for their interest.
“It has been the club that has shown the most interest in me but, in the end, I evaluated all of the offers I had on the table and I chose the one that convinced me most.
“I had other options, and very important ones that were flashier, but I’ve chosen Seville because its sporting project convinced me.
“Many people outside of Seville have told me that I’ve made the wrong choice, that sequels are never good. I’ve evaluated all of this.”
