Match preview

Just one game in Major League Soccer this weekend, so it's all eyes on Vancouver Whitecaps and Real Salt Lake.

RSL make the trip north of the boarder hoping to continue their positive start to the season.

Last weekend, the Claret and Cobalt beat Houston Dynamo 3-0 thanks to goals from Bobby Wood, Sergio Córdova and then Justen Glad.

That made it three wins in a row for Pablo Mastroeni's side who've taken 16 points from six matches at Rio Tinto Stadium so far.

This is Real Salt Lake's joint-best ever start to a season at home, matching 2010 and 2016 when they finished second and sixth in the west respectively.

Right now, the Utah-based club are third in the Western Conference and would leapfrog FC Dallas into second with just a point here.

Vancouver Whitecaps meanwhile are very much playing catchup.

Vanni Sartini's side though enjoyed a massive win on the road last weekend, beating fellow-strugglers Sporting Kansas City at Children's Mercy Park.

Lucas Cavallini's first half penalty the only goal of the night.

So, the Caps have won won three of their last five matches, the other two both at home, so have climbed up to 12th in the west.

Now, can Vancouver make home advantage count at BC Place?
