Will a change in management result in a change of fortune for San Jose Earthquakes?

Last weekend, Jeremy Ebobisse took his tally to five for the season as the Goonies held Nashville SC to a 2-2 draw at PayPal Park.

However, this result means San Jose are still the only winless side in MLS and, after the game Matías Almeyda was sacked as Head Coach.

Alex Covelo is currently in caretaker charge, and the new era began with an emphatic victory in the U.S. Open Cup.

On Tuesday night, the Quakes hammered minnows Bay Cities FC, of the National Independent Soccer Association, 5-0 at home.

Jack Skahan, Paul Marie, Cade Cowell, 16 year old Niko Tsakiris and then Ousseni Bouda all on target.

Now, will the Earthquakes start to register on the Major League Soccer richter scale?

If one club has been doing that in recent seasons it's the Seattle Sounders.

The Rave Green have reached four of the last six MLS Cup Finals, most recently 2020, lifting the trophy in both 2016 and 2019.

Now, having lost in last season's League Cups Final, the Sounders are looking to claim continental silverware for the first time.

Brian Schmetzer's side have reached the CONCACAF Champions League Final, following wins over Motagua, Club León and NYCFC.

The first leg of the final against Pumas U.N.A.M. takes place at Estadio Olímpico Universitario on Wednesday before they reconvene in Seattle a week later.

With their priorities elsewhere, Seattle are currently down in 11th in the west, suffering a surprise 1-0 loss to Inter Miami last weekend.

The Heritage Cup is actually on the line in this game, as well as three points, with the Sounders looking to fine-tune before jetting down to Mexico.
