Will New York Red Bulls ensure they’ll be playing next weekend’s first round play-off match on home turf?

Last weekend, despite leading in the 89th minute, RBNY were beaten 2-1 by Columbus Crew.

Expansion club Charlotte FC meanwhile are in terrific form, but it won’t be enough to see them sneak into the play-offs.

That made it three victories in a row for Christian Lattanzio’s team who were unable to keep that streak going on Wednesday.

Andre Shinyashiki’s 94th minute equaliser snatched a 2-2 draw at home to Columbus Crew, but this was not enough to keep Charlotte’s post-season hopes alive.

Nevertheless, given that this is their first-ever season, and that they were forced to sack Miguel Ángel Ramírez in May, for Charlotte to be ninth is no small feat.

Will Queen City sign off with a victory at Red Bull Arena, a venue they beat NYCFC at less than two months ago?
