Rennes are looking for another push into the top five European spots this season with the club heading on the road to meet with a Montpellier side hoping for a finish in the top half of Ligue 1.

Montpellier come into this game having lost the past two games 2-1 to Toulouse and Lille and it has thrown their hopes of getting into the top half into question.

Combine this with a draw against Marseille at the end of March and it now means a month has passed since their last victory in Ligue 1 when they defeated Clermont Foot 2-1.

Montpellier did, however, smash Angers 5-0 before this run and Ajaccio 1-0 away from home too. Such results keep them in 13th and with a gap of eight points to deal with on Lorient in 10th.

Rennes secured a fantastic 3-0 win over Reims last time out to keep their hopes of a top five finish alive, as Jeremy Doku scored two goals inside 20 minutes before a finish from Arthur Theate.
