Lille vs Toulouse betting tips: Ligue 1 preview, prediction and odds

Tip of the game

Match Preview

Eighth and 11th clash in Ligue 1 this weekend as Lille welcome Toulouse to the Stade Pierre Mauroy on Saturday night as the two sides come into this match with contrasting runs of form so far.

Lille have been veruy topsy-turvy so far. In fact, every time they have won in Ligue 1 in 2022/23, their form has been met with loss or a draw. The club kicked off their league campaign with a 4-1 win over the newly-promoted Auxerre, before then drawing with Nantes 1-1 and then getting destroyed by Paris Saint-Germain 7-1.

Lille’s wins so far have come against Ajaccio and Montpellier, ironically enough, both in 3-1 victories away from home. However, with a 2-1 loss to Nice in between these games and a 2-1 loss to Marseille over the past weekend, they remain very inconsistent right now.

Toulouse have barely anything to shout about themselves right now and they have only just registered win number two of the season last time out over Reims, as Zakaria Aboukhlal scored the game’s only goal on home soil.

Philippe Montanier now sees his side sitting 11th in the table with 11 goals conceded and eight scored of their own meaning they have the worst goals difference inside the top 12. Toulouse are also not that too far past the time when they lost three in a row in Ligue 1, as Nantes, PSG and Clermont Foot all beat them. What’s more, the club scored just once in that time and let in eight goals.

Toulouse’s other win in Ligue 1 came against Troyes, and if they can recapture this form shown on the road, they will give an inconsistent Lille all sorts of problems.
