It’s arguably the biggest game of the season for Ajaccio and Brest this weekend when two of the bottom five meet in a must-win game to avoid serious fears of relegation.

Brest, on one hand, have a 10-point gap on Ajaccio, and it now makes this game feel like last chance saloon for the home side because of only 21 points from 31 games.

There are still 21 more points to be collected or lost in Ligue 1, but with just six wins and the fewest goals scored this season (22), even if Ajaccio were to win this game, it still feels like an impossible feat to get out of the bottom four.

As for Brest, they remain outside of the danger zone after a narrow 1-0 home win over Nice that saw Jeremy Le Douaron score in the first half of the game.

Combine this with a 1-1 draw against Reims, a 3-1 victory over Toulouse and a 2-2 draw with Troyes and it means four games without a loss for the struggling Brest.
