Harrogate Town will be looking to build on their excellent win over Rochdale this Boxing Day when they meet with Grimsby Town at the EnviroVent Stadium as the away side aim to jump into the top half of the table with a win.
Grimsby got a fantastic win over Tranmere Rovers last time out with a 2-1 victory against the Merseyside outfit. This came after also beating Cambridge United in the FA Cup to set up a third round tie with Burton Albion in January.
The club are now only three points behind Wimbledon in 12th and they could find themselves in the top half of the table by beating Harrogate, but they will need other results to favour them. The Mariners also have a game in hand on some teams around them and they should be fairly confident in winning here and ending up in the top 12 before 2023.
Harrogate got their best result of the season when they last played, beating Rochdale 4-1 in a must-win battle down in the bottom four. However, the Sulphrites are yet to play a game since, meaning it’s been 23 days since the club last stepped out in League Two.
On the other hand, Harrogate will be pleased at how they are now five points above Colchester United in the league table. They have still managed to let in 30 goals, however, and lost 11 times from 20 outings, winning just five matches.
