Tranmere Rovers will be aiming to keep up their excellent run of form when they head to the Mornflake Stadium where Crewe Alexandra are gradually being pulled closer to the bottom five spots in League Two after losing once again this past week.
Crewe have scored just one goal in December after losing all three games. The club start this run with a 2-1 loss to Newport County before a 1-0 defeat on the road to Stockport County.
Crewe then played hosts to Carlisle United last Thursday and lost 3-0, but things were made worse when Luke Offord was sent off – he now misses this game.
As for Tranmere, they won again this past week by defeating playoff hopefuls Barrow. Jordan Turnbull scored before Kane Hemmings won the game in the last 10 minutes. Like Crewe, Micky Mellon’s side have to deal with a suspension, as Paul Lewis was sent off.
Tranmere are now just one point off the top half of the table and also sit five points behind Mansfield Town in sixth.
