Wycombe Wanderers are looking to keep up their unbeaten form in December and jump into the playoffs this weekend with Gareth Ainsworth’s men set to play hosts to Bristol Rovers at Adams Park.

Wycombe are heading into this one off the back of a stunning win over the then-league leaders Ipswich Town. The club forced the Tractor Boys off top spot in the division, but they remain outside of the playoffs because of the winning form from Derby County and Bolton Wanderers.

On the other hand, Ainsworth will be pleased to see those two meet one another on Boxing Day, which will see dropped points somewhere and give Wycombe a golden chance to leap into the top six. Wycombe also got a fantastic win over Portsmouth in December, beating Pompey 2-0. A draw with Lincoln City are the only dropped points this month so far.

As for Bristol, they are on the best run of form this season. Joey Barton has guided his side to a 1-1 draw away to the high-flying Bolton Wanderers, before beating Port Vale 1-0 too. The club then beat MK Dons 4-1 in the Football League Trophy, before a great win away to Charlton Athletic.

This form from Bristol has moved them up into ninth in the table and without a defeat since a loss to Derby County at the end of October.
