Levante vs Espanyol betting tips: La Liga preview, predictions and odds

[RECOMMENDED_BETS]

Both teams to score is 7/10.

Draw and both teams to score is 10/3.

Raúl de Tomás is 9/2 to break the deadlock and 7/5 to score anytime.

Match preview

If Levante are to pull off a great escape, it’s games like this that they simply have to be winning.

On Monday night, the Frogs were beaten 3-1 at San Mamés by Athletic Club with Jorge de Frutos’ goal back on stoppage time scant consolation.

However, having failed to win any of their first 19 matches this season, breaking all sorts of records, they’re still bottom, seven points from safety.

With games running out, this feels like must win for Levante if they’re to keep the dream alive.

Espanyol meanwhile suffered a surprise relegation of their own in 2020 before bouncing straight back up and now they’re comfortably mid-table.

Blanquiazules ended a long winless run of their own last weekend, overcoming Getafe 2-0 at home with Leandro Cabrera amongst the goals.

Before this, Vicente Moreno’s side hadn’t won any of their seven games in 2022, dating back to a victory over Valencia on New Years’ Eve.

Nevertheless, the Catalan club are 12th and in no danger of being sucked into the relegation battle.

Will there be a winner at Estadi Ciutat de València?

Levante team news

34 year old centre-back Martín Cáceres has been generally excellent since arriving from Cagliari in January so will remain at the heart of defence.

At the other end of the pitch, Jorge de Frutos’ goal on Monday should see him keep his place in attack.

Roger will also start but, after going off injured at San Mamés, José Luis Morales isn’t going to feature with Enis Bardhi coming in.

Roberto Soldado would therefore remain on the bench.

Shkodran Mustafi is a long-term absentee.

Espanyol team news

Raúl de Tomás remains, by far, Espanyol’s top scorer with 13, but now hasn’t scored in three games, his joint-longest draught of the campaign.

Centre-back Leandro Cabrera was the scorer last weekend and he’ll continue alongside Fernando Calero.

Aleix Vidal could come in on the right of defence, displacing Óscar Gil
