Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has blamed his lack of clinical goalscorers for his side’s latest Premier League defeat.
The Red Devils fell short at the hands of Wolves, who drew level with their opponents in the standings after winning 1-0 at Old Trafford.
It was a stark contrast on the pitch compared to United’s exploits on Thursday night, where they scored five goals against Lyon.
Against the top-flight side, who confirmed their safety with the win, Amorim’s men missed a handful of chances but looked flat throughout.
Their showing was reflected by the fans at full-time, who booed the players off.
It once again highlighted the club’s lack of a proven goalscorer, with Rasmus Hojlund failing to impress in the absence of Joshua Zirkzee.

Speaking after the game, Amorim said: “We didn’t score our opportunities. That’s it. We need to score goals.
“This season is going to end like this so we need to take the positives and work on what we need to improve.
“We have to look at everything, our squad, what we have to do in the market. We will see.
“We talk every day about next season and with time we will get what we need to improve the team.”
Amorim admitted after the Lyon win that he will be playing weaker sides for the remaining Premier League clashes as his side focus on the Europa League.
However, the former Sporting man would have been expecting better against Wolves on Sunday afternoon.
