Wigan Athletic vs Swansea City match preview
A Wigan Athletic outfit staring relegation to League One square in the face will go about kicking one last push for survival into gear this Monday, April 10th, in a Championship meeting with Swansea City.
The Latics, for their part, were brought crashing back down to earth last time out.
After clinching a timely return to winning ways courtesy of a hard-fought downing of Queens Park Rangers, Shaun Maloney’s troops made the trip to Bramall Lane, to face high-flying Sheffield United.
And, though they fought valiantly, when all was said and done, a solitary goal proved enough to condemn Wigan to another damaging defeat.
Not only that, but it brought to a close a rare three-game unbeaten streak.
The Latics, in turn, remain dead bottom of the table in England’s 2nd tier, a full eight points from safety with just six games to play.

The Swans, for their part, have enjoyed an impressive resurgence over the course of the last few weeks.
On the back of five defeats from six between mid-February and March, Russell Martin’s side first bagged back-to-back three-point hauls, at the expense of Bristol City and rivals Cardiff City.
Then, most recently, a meeting with Coventry City at the Liberty Stadium saw the Welsh giants dominate when it comes to both possession and chances created, albeit en route to a goalless stalemate.
Such efforts, in turn, have seen Swansea climb to 15th in the Championship table, still in with an outside shot of a top-half finish.
And we at 101, for that reason, are backing Monday’s visitors to the DW Stadium as understandable favourites to bag all three points.
Do not be surprised either, though, if Wigan ultimately battle their way to a share of the spoils.
