A Preston North End outfit eyeing a swift return to winning ways will act as hosts, when they welcome West Bromwich Albion to Deepdale for a Championship clash on Saturday, September 30th.

Preston, of course, have thus far proven one of the surprise packages of the campaign in England’s 2nd tier.

This comes with the Lilywhites battling it out at the division’s very summit, and having spent much of the term boasting table-topping status.

All told, across their eight outings to date, Ryan Lowe’s troops have rattled off six wins, and two draws. Such endeavours leave Preston as the only side in the Championship without a defeat to their name in 2023/24.

And yet, last weekend, they were knocked off their perch as leaders.

After Liam Lindsay drew the Lilywhites level on the stroke of half-time in a trip to Rotherham, they were unable to carve out an all-important winner, allowing both Leicester and Ipswich to climb a point clear into top spot.

The Baggies, all told, have racked up two wins and two defeats, to go alongside a quartet of draws.

Three such draws have come in their last three outings, the latest after playing host to Millwall last weekend.

Despite dominating when it came to possession and chances created alike, Carlos Corberan’s men were unable to conjure up the one moment of quality required to find the net, en route to a goalless stalemate.

West Brom, in turn, find themselves languishing in mid-table, with just eight points on the board from eight games.

And though the possibility of the Baggies snatching yet another draw at Deepdale should not be ruled out, we at 101 are backing Preston, when all is said and done, to emerge on the right side of the result on Saturday evening.
