Cardiff City vs Rotherham United match preview

Two sides in the midst of altogether contrasting recent spells of form are set to lock horns in a Championship clash at the Cardiff City Stadium this Saturday, September 30th.

The matchup in question will see Cardiff City act as hosts, in a meeting with Rotherham United.

Beginning with the former, Cardiff currently stand as of the most in-form sides in England’s 2nd tier.

After looking like early contenders for the drop owing to a dismal start to the campaign, the Bluebirds have since turned things around in frankly remarkable fashion.

All told, Erol Bulut’s troops have now romped to victory in four of their last five in the league.

The most recent came in particularly impressive fashion, as Mark McGuinness’ late strike proved enough to get the better of an equally on-song Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

And, safe to say, Saturday’s hosts will likely fancy their chances of making it five wins from six later today.

This comes with upcoming opponents Rotherham having endured an altogether less fruitful time of things of late.

The Millers currently find themselves sitting 2nd from bottom in the Championship standings.

They have managed to piece together just five points from eight outings to date, owing to a record of one win, two draws, and an alarming five defeats.

And yet, last time out, Matt Taylor and co. did at least succeed in steadying the ship.

This came by way of a meeting with then-table-toppers Preston North End, at the New York Stadium.

After Jordan Hugill’s opener was cancelled out by Liam Lindsay on the stroke of the interval, Rotherham did enough to hold on for a commendable share of the spoils.

We at 101, though, nevertheless envision Saturday’s visitors being brought firmly back down to earth, by way of a defeat come the full-time whistle in southeast Wales this evening.
