Two sides in the midst of altogether contrasting spells of form are set to lock horns in a highly-anticipated Championship clash at The Hawthorns on Saturday, February 25th.

The matchup in question will see West Bromwich Albion act as hosts, in a meeting with Middlesbrough.

First, let’s take a look at the recent endeavours of the latter.

For those not aware, Middlesbrough have long established themselves, alongside table-topping Burnley, as the Championship’s most in-form club.

Since the appointment of Michael Carrick late last year, the Yorkshire-based outfit have looked a team reborn, on their way to a remarkable 12 wins from 14.

This stretch includes victories over a whole host of promotion hopefuls, including all of Watford, Blackburn Rovers, Millwall and, last week, 2nd-placed Sheffield United.

A further downing of Queens Park Rangers at the weekend, in turn, means that Boro now find themselves in the dizzying heights of 3rd, just months on from looking like legitimate contenders for the drop.

Not only that, but another victory on Saturday, coupled with a third Sheffield United defeat on the bounce, would see Carrick and co. close to within a solitary point of the 2nd automatic promotion spot.

And all associated with Middlesbrough will no doubt be confident in doing their part towards precisely that, up against a West Bromwich Albion outfit majorly struggling for form.

The Baggies, after themselves going from relegation-threatened to promotion candidates over the course of the season, have found results altogether more difficult to come by of late.

Carlos Corberan’s men have notched just a single win from their last six attempts, dating back to the beginning of the month.

Since, West Brom have managed to secure a measly one point from an available nine, with a trip to Vicarage Road on Monday having ultimately culminated in a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Watford.

Such struggles have seen the Baggies slip back out of the top-six, to the depths of mid-table as things stand.

And we at 101 do not envision their situation improving all that much this weekend, either.

Instead, we are backing visitors Middlesbrough to emerge from The Hawthorns with all three points, to continue their ongoing push for a return to the top-flight.
