Stoke City vs Queens Park Rangers match preview

A Stoke City outfit in the midst of a dismal stretch of form are set to act as hosts, in a Championship meeting with Queens Park Rangers this Saturday, April 29th.

Stoke, for their part, are primed to head into the action with confidence lacking in the camp.

This comes owing to a dismal stretch of results over the course of the last few weeks.

After establishing themselves as one of the Championship’s standout sides courtesy of three wins and two draws from five leading into April, the Potters have since seen their form fall off the side of a cliff.

All told, Alex Neil’s troops have now failed to emerge triumphant from any of their last five, slipping to a trio of defeats along the way.

Most recently, the Potters did at least manage to steady the ship, in battling their way to a share of the spoils at relegation-battling Cardiff City, but they have nevertheless tumbled to a disappointing 16th in the Championship table.

The Hoops, of course, have long stood as one of the most off-colour outfits in England’s 2nd tier, culminating in their freefall from the heights of the playoff race, to the depths of the battle against the drop.

After first showcasing signs of life in taking points from both West Bromwich Albion and Norwich City, though, last time out, Gareth Ainsworth’s men truly turned things around.

This came as a trip to Turf Moor to take on champions Burnley saw QPR shock the masses, in emerging on the right side of a 2-1 scoreline.

Despite racking up a measly 19% percent of the possession, goals on the part of Sam Field and Chris Martin proved decisive in condemning Vincent Kompany’s runaway table-toppers to just a third loss of the season.

QPR, in turn, have all but secured their safety, sitting four points clear of the bottom three with just two games to play.

All factors considered, we at 101 are therefore backing Saturday’s Bet365 Stadium clash to play out into a draw.
