Queens Park Rangers vs Swansea City match preview

Two sides with sights set on a bounce-back result are set to lock horns as part of the upcoming round of midweek Championship fixtures on Tuesday, September 19th.

The matchup in question will see Queens Park Rangers act as hosts, in a meeting with Swansea City.

Beginning with the former, QPR have endured an altogether hit-and-miss opening to the season to date.

Across their six league outings, Gareth Ainsworth’s troops have managed a pair of victories, to go along with four defeats.

Most recently, in their return to action post-international break, the Hoops welcomed Sunderland to Loftus Road, looking in good stead upon Kenneth Paal opening the scoring inside 15 minutes.

Jack Colback’s ensuing dismissal, however, ultimately cost QPR dear, as Sunderland took full advantage of their man advantage en route to an eventual 3-1 triumph.

QPR, though, could well fancy their chances of sealing a swift return to winning ways on Tuesday.

This comes with their upcoming opponents having stumbled their way through an even less productive start to 2023/24.

Like their hosts-in-waiting, Swansea have also fallen to defeat in four of their six league fixtures thus far.

This includes four straight losses across all competitions dating back to the end of August.

Last time out, the short trip to Wales’ capital for a derby showdown with rivals Cardiff saw Michael Duff’s men struggle once more, on their way to a 2-0 final scoreline.

With just two points to show for their efforts all told, the Swans, in turn, find themselves occupying the last of the relegation spots in England’s 2nd tier.

And we at 101 envision their situation going from bad to worse later today, backing QPR, when all is said and done, to emerge victorious from the action at Loftus Road.
