Norwich City vs Birmingham City match preview

Two sides desperate for a return to winning ways are set to lock horns in a Championship clash at Carrow Road this Saturday, September 30th.

The matchup in question will see Norwich City act as hosts, in a meeting with Birmingham City.

Beginning with the former, Norwich, after enjoying a solid opening to the campaign, have since fallen out of form in alarming fashion over recent weeks.

All told, across their last five in all competitions, the Canaries have managed just a solitary win, to go along with four defeats.

Most recently, last weekend, David Wagner’s troops made the trip to Home Park, for a meeting with newly-promoted Plymouth Argyle.

And what followed over the 90 minutes marked Norwich’s most concerning loss of the term, Adam Idah’s brace proving little more than a consolation en route to a 6-2 final scoreline.

Such woes, all told, have seen Norwich tumble to 8th in the table in England’s 2nd tier.

Also struggling for results at present, though, are the Canaries’ upcoming opponents.

Like their hosts-in-waiting on Saturday, Birmingham kicked their season into gear in impressive fashion, rattling off four wins from five in all competitions.

Since, however, they have struggled, failing to emerge triumphant from any of the club’s last five.

Last time out, fresh off back-to-back defeats, John Eustace’s men welcomed lowly Queens Park Rangers to St. Andrew’s Stadium.

When all was said and done, though, the Blues’ shortcomings in the final third proved costly once more, en route to a goalless stalemate.

Such endeavours leave Birmingham sitting 10th in the standings, in the knowledge that another defeat later today could see them slip into the bottom half.

So, all of this taken into consideration, how do we at 101 envision Saturday’s action playing out at Carrow Road?

We are backing the two faltering sides to ultimately cancel each other out, on their way to a sharing of the spoils.
