Plymouth Argyle vs Norwich City match preview

Two sides desperate for a return to winning ways are set to lock horns in a Championship clash at Home Park this Saturday, September 23rd.

The matchup in question will see Plymouth Argyle act as hosts, in a meeting with Norwich City.

Beginning with the former, Plymouth find themselves in the midst of an alarming dip in form at present.

After kicking their return to the 2nd tier of English football into gear in solid fashion, the Pilgrims have since fallen off the pace in every sense.

All told, across their last five outings, Steven Schumacher’s troops have been condemned to defeat on five occasions.

The most recent came in concerning fashion, too, as a midweek trip to Bristol City gave rise to an eventual 4-1 drubbing.

Such woes have seen Plymouth tumble to a lowly 19th in the table, just four points clear of the bottom three.

Upcoming opponents Norwich City, in turn, will no doubt fancy their chances of securing a bounce-back result of their own at Home Park later this afternoon.

The Canaries find themselves in something of a hit-and-miss stretch of form at present, having won three and lost two of their last five.

This includes defeats in two of their last three, the latter of which came on Wednesday night.

After welcoming fellow promotion hopefuls Leicester City to Carrow Road, David Wagner and co. proved no match for the recently-relegated Foxes, en route to a 2-0 full-time scoreline.

Norwich, in turn, have slipped to 5th in the standings in England’s 2nd tier, a full five points off the automatic promotion spots.

So, all of this considered, how do we at 101 envision Saturday’s action playing out in south Devon?

Though an eventual sharing of the spoils should not be ruled out, we are backing Norwich, when all is said and done, to simply prove too much for struggling hosts Plymouth.
