Plymouth Argyle vs Huddersfield Town match preview

Promoted Plymouth Argyle’s efforts to maintain their Championship status will be kicked into gear this Saturday, August 5th.

This comes as the Pilgrims prepare to play host to Huddersfield Town, at Home Park.

Steven Schumacher’s troops, for obvious reasons, will head into proceedings with confidence high in the camp, fresh off clinching the League One title in style.

Since, Plymouth have embarked on a head-turning recruitment drive, securing the signatures of no fewer than eight new players.

Expect a raucous atmosphere inside Home Park, too, with the Pilgrims faithful ready to make their presence known after a full 13 years away from England’s 2nd tier.

So, what of upcoming opponents Huddersfield Town?

The appointment of Neil Warnock, though, proved itself to be something of a masterstroke, with a run of 10 points from 12 to close out the term having ultimately culminated in a solid 18th-placed finish.

With Warnock back at the helm for the new season, safe to say that all associated with Huddersfield will have their sights set firmly up the table, albeit with a quiet summer to date having perhaps tempered expectations of another promotion playoff bid.

How, then, do we at 101 envision proceedings unfolding in Devon on Saturday afternoon?

Whilst hosts Plymouth are backed as favourites with the bookmakers, based on the odds available, an eventual sharing of the spoils looks a solid bet for the season opener.
