Match preview

Two sides in the midst of altogether contrasting spells of form are set to lock horns in a Championship clash at Carrow Road this Sunday, March 12th.

The matchup in question will see Norwich City act as hosts, in a meeting with Sunderland.

Beginning with the former, Norwich, over the course of last month, have gotten the club’s promotion playoff bid firmly back on track.

Amid a frustratingly inconsistent campaign to date, the Canaries have finally managed to string a prolonged stretch of positive results together.

All told, across their last five outings, David Wagner’s troops have racked up 13 points from an available 15.

This run includes a trio of victories on the spin, the latest of which came in altogether impressive fashion last weekend.

After making the trip to The Den, Gabriel Sara’s late strike proved enough to guide Norwich beyond a Millwall outfit unbeaten at home since all the way back in August.

A fifth win in six later today, in turn, would guide the Canaries clear of both Millwall and Blackburn, to 5th in the Championship table.

And Wagner and co. will no doubt be confident in their chances of clinching precisely that, up against a Sunderland outfit in the midst of an alarming slide.

After themselves looking like contenders for a top-six berth into last month, the Black Cats have since picked up a paltry one point from their last four.

Not only that, but each of the club’s last three have culminated in defeat, the latest of which set alarm bells firmly ringing at the Stadium of Light.

A home meeting with Stoke City ultimately culminated in Alex Pritchard’s 2nd-half finish proving little more than a consolation, en route to a head-turning 5-1 loss.

Now sitting in mid-table in England’s 2nd tier, and with injuries beginning to mount across the club’s squad, Sunderland could, in turn, soon find themselves with little to play for over the closing weeks of the campaign.

We at 101, as a result, envision Sunday’s Carrow Road clash playing out true to form, backing Norwich to make short work of the visiting Black Cats upon the full-time whistle bringing proceedings to a close.
