Norwich City vs Rotherham United match preview

Two sides fresh off altogether morale-boosting results are set to lock horns in a Championship clash at Carrow Road this Monday, April 10th.

The matchup in question will see Norwich City act as hosts, in a meeting with Rotherham United.

Beginning with the former, Norwich, for their part, took a crucial step back towards the promotion playoff spots with their most recent triumph on Friday night.

This came as a trip to Ewood Park ultimately culminated in the Canaries putting Blackburn Rovers to the sword by two goals to nil.

Liam Gibbs and Gabriel Sara bagged the goals on the day, in the process narrowing the gap between Norwich and sixth-placed Blackburn to just a solitary point.

Not only that, but the triumph on the part of David Wagner’s troops brought to an end what had proven a concerning prior stretch of results.

Safe to say, then, that Wagner and co. will be desperate for a 2nd victory on the spin later this evening, in efforts to close out the season strong.

As alluded to above, though, upcoming opponents Rotherham are too fresh off a much-needed win last time out.

The Millers headed into Gameweek 40 of the Championship campaign with just two wins on the board from their previous 11 attempts.

Such woes culminated in Matt Taylor’s side being dragged ever closer to the battle against relegation to League One.

Upon their side falling a goal behind in a showdown with West Bromwich Albion on Friday, the Rotherham faithful, in turn, no doubt feared the worst.

Taylor’s men, though, stood up to be counted when it was needed most, as Jordan Hugill’s brace either side of the interval was added to by Tariqe Fosu, en route to a 3-1 final scoreline.

Though Norwich should nevertheless be viewed as clear favourites to take all three points in East Anglia on Monday, we at 101, in turn, also view an eventual sharing of the spoils as a real possibility.
