Two of the Championship’s top four are set to lock horns as part of the midweek round of fixtures on Wednesday, September 20th.

The matchup in question will see Norwich City act as hosts, in a meeting with Leicester City.

Beginning with the former, Norwich, after underwhelming across the 2022/23 campaign, have since enjoyed an altogether more fruitful time of things over the early weeks of the new term.

All told, across their six outings to date, the Canaries have racked up four wins and a draw, to go along with just a solitary defeat.

Most recently, in their return to action on the back of the international break this past weekend, David Wagner’s troops played host to Stoke City, eyeing a bounce-back result.

And, when all was said and done, this is precisely what Norwich went on to secure, courtesy of a solitary Jack Stacey strike on the stroke of the interval.

Such endeavours, all told, leave Wednesday’s hosts sitting 4th in England’s 2nd tier.

Upcoming opponents Leicester, as alluded to above, though, stand as one of the three sides leading Norwich in the Championship standings.

Since being relegated back to the 2nd division, the Foxes have kicked their promotion push into gear in fine fashion, to the tune of five wins from six.

And yet, like their hosts-in-waiting later this evening, Enzo Maresca’s side were forced to recover from a first defeat of the term in their return to the pitch this past weekend.

Leicester, in turn, find themselves sitting pretty in 2nd in the Championship, a solitary point off top spot.
