Leicester City vs Bristol City match preview

A Leicester City outfit brimming with confidence will be hopeful of making Bristol City their latest victims, when they act as hosts in a Championship meeting with the Robins on Saturday, September 23rd.

The Foxes, for those not aware, have enjoyed an altogether fruitful opening to the new campaign.

Amid efforts to secure a swift return to the Premier League, Enzo Maresca’s troops have managed wins in all but one of their nine outings across all competitions.

The most recent came in midweek, when Leicester made the trip to Carrow Road, for a highly-anticipated showdown with fellow high-flyers Norwich City.

And, when all was said and done, Maresca and co. made short work of their hosts, thanking goals on the part of Kelechi Iheanacho and Kasey McAteer for an eventual 2-0 triumph.

Such endeavours leave them sitting pretty in 2nd in England’s 2nd tier, just a point adrift of surprise early pace-setters Preston North End.

Safe to say, then, that upcoming opponents Bristol City will have their work very much cut out for them at the King Power Stadium later today.

The Robins, for their part, will also head into the clash with spirits high in the camp, having enjoyed a productive term to date.

All told, across seven league fixtures, Nigel Pearson’s men have notched three wins and three draws, to go along with a solitary defeat.

They are currently in the midst of a four-game unbeaten streak, the latest of which arrived on Tuesday night.

After welcoming Plymouth Argyle to Ashton Gate, Bristol City ran riot, Sam Bell, Matty James, Mark Sykes and Harry Cornick on target en route to a deserved three-point haul.

In turn, they sit 7th in the table, outside the playoff promotion spots by way of little more than goal difference.

And yet, despite such form, we at 101 find it hard to see past Leicester as the likely victors come the full-time whistle at the King Power on Saturday.
