Hull City vs West Bromwich Albion betting tips: Championship preview, predictions and odds

This article provides a preview, odds and recommended bets for the Championship meeting between Hull City and West Bromwich Albion on March 3rd, 2023

Match preview

The opening fixture of the weekend in the Championship is set to play out on Friday, March 3rd, when Hull City play host to West Bromwich Albion at the MKM Stadium.

Beginning with the former, Hull will head into proceedings desperate for a return to winning ways.

This comes with the Tigers currently in the midst of an altogether underwhelming stretch of form.

After looking as though they had turned a corner in surging clear of the relegation scrap courtesy of successive wins over Queens Park Rangers and Cardiff City, Liam Rosenior’s troops have since failed to emerge triumphant from any of their last four.

Two of these outings, meanwhile, have culminated in defeat, most recently this past weekend.

A trip to Ashton Gate to face Bristol City ultimately resulted in Hull being put to the sword by a goal to nil, owing to Nahki Wells’ spot-kick finish 20 minutes from time.

Safe to say, then, that all associated with Friday’s hosts will be hopeful of their side clinching a bounce-back result later this evening.

Such an outcome, though, will prove far from easy to come by.

This comes with upcoming opponents West Bromwich Albion fresh off a hugely impressive return to winning ways of their own last time out.

The Baggies, osf course, have endured a frankly bizarre campaign in 2022/23 to date.

After spending the opening months of the term battling it out at the foot of the table, a remarkable resurgence on the back of the appointment of Carlos Corberan saw West Brom establish themselves amongst the frontrunners for a promotion playoff berth.

Such hopes, however, were dealt a series of blows of late, upon the Midlands club notching just a solitary victory from five.

In turn, it came as nothing short of a shock when, last weekend, Corberan and co. steadied the ship courtesy of a three-point haul at the expense of the English 2nd tier’s most in-form outfit.

After welcoming a rampant Middlesbrough fresh off five successive wins to The Hawthorns, an early Daryl Dike double proved enough to guide West Brom to the right side of a 2-0 scoreline.

We at 101 are therefore backing Friday’s visitors to make it two victories on the spin come the full-time whistle at the MKM, though the Baggies’ frustrating inconsistencies mean that Hull stealing a point should also not be ruled out.
