Match preview

Hull City and Stoke City are set to lock horns at the KC Stadium on Tuesday night.

After the weekend’s fixture list was cancelled owing to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, six outings are in line to play out on September 13th, followed by the same number 24 hours later.

The two sides will head into proceedings separated by a full eight places in the Championship table, with hosts Hull boasting the advantage in 12th.

The tight nature of the bottom half of England’s 2nd tier at present, though, means that the Tigers have actually strung together just three more points than their upcoming opponents, across the season’s first eight gameweeks.

Not only that, but it is Stoke who will head into proceedings in the better form, having racked up four points from their last three fixtures.

Hull, on the other hand, slipped to successive defeats at the hands of QPR and Sheffield United over the course of the last two weeks.

It is also perhaps worth noting that it is Stoke who boast an altogether notable advantage when it comes to recent meetings between the two sides, having emerged victorious from all of their last three showdowns across all competitions.

101GreatGoals prediction: Hull City 0-0 Stoke City
