Hull City vs Coventry City match preview

The Championship campaign is set to be kicked back into gear this Friday, September 15th, when Hull City welcome Coventry City to the MKM Stadium.

Beginning with the former, Hull, for their part, will head into proceedings with confidence brimming across the squad.

This comes with the Tigers in the midst of a stellar stretch of form.

After being condemned to an opening day defeat at the hands of Norwich City, Liam Rosenior’s troops have since bounced back in a major way, to the tune of 10 points from an available 12.

This includes a hugely impressive victory in the club’s final outing ahead of the international break.

Despite being under the cosh for much of the clash, a solitary strike on the part of Liam Delap ultimately proved enough to guide Hull to the right side of a 1-0 result away to Leicester.

Turning attentions towards the upcoming visitors to the MKM, Coventry have endured an altogether less productive time of things of late.

The Sky Blues, like Hull, slipped to defeat on opening day, but appeared to have righted their course in putting three past Middlesbrough without reply.

Since, however, Mark Robins and co. have been forced to settle for a share of the spoils in three successive gameweeks.

The most recent came in a home meeting with Watford, two weeks ago.

After slipping into a 3-2 hole late on, Coventry battled their way back to a point, courtesy of Matt Godden’s 4th of the term.

The Sky Blues, as a result, find themselves in a lowly 14th in the table, with five games on the board.

So, all of this considered, how do we at 101 envision Friday’s action unfolding at the MKM Stadium?

Hosts Hull, for obvious reasons, should be considered favourites based on form. Do not be at all surprised, though, if Coventry manage to battle their way to another hard-fought share of the spoils.
